It is important to mention that this document serves as a contract between both parties involved when browsing, quoting, and purchasing train tickets. From the outset, we inform you that our platform offers services to tourists who, in this context, will be considered as customers or the second party in the service contract.
Additionally, the informational value of each of our services should be taken into account. These must be read, understood, and, in some cases, explicitly confirmed before and during the train booking process.
Therefore, the Customer, as the second party in the contract, agrees to the terms and conditions stated in this document, as well as the description explaining the service to be acquired.
We strongly recommend carefully reading the details of the train service you wish to purchase. Furthermore, customers may consult our sales advisors for any questions or concerns before acquiring the service or proceeding with the contract.
About the Service Conditions
Rail Machupicchu is a virtual platform that offers all train services and guidance for traveling to Machu Picchu by train. The most important purpose of this website is to provide users with access to all trains from both Inca Rail and PeruRail in one place.
These services are available for both national and international tourists. That is why one-way and round-trip journeys are offered, as well as the possibility of purchasing conventional packages to visit Machu Picchu. Of course, with the assistance of our sales advisors.
At Rail Machupicchu, you will find ticket sales for the following trains:
- Expedition Train.
- The Voyager Train.
- Vistadome Train.

The service consists of selling tickets for the respective journey on the route chosen by the customer. The customer will also decide the travel date and whether to purchase a complete trip (round trip). The customer will travel to Machu Picchu on the date of their reservation. Likewise, it is important to consider the train regulations, such as arriving at the train station 30 minutes before departure.
The Purchase and Reservation Process
Reservations at Rail Machupicchu can be made through its virtual platform. Train tickets are acquired by filling out the virtual form or with the assistance of our sales advisors.
It is important that customers fill in the form correctly with real and truthful information. The provided information will validate each reservation and ensure they are used properly before the trip. The form will also include references to the terms and conditions.
Once the reservation is made, a confirmation email will be sent. This email will detail the selected tickets, passenger information, and the date and time of the service purchased. Additionally, the payment can be completed once the payment gateway is enabled after filling out the form. If preferred, payment can also be made by following the instructions in the email.
Once the payment is completed, a new email will be sent to the same address used for the reservation. This email will include the following details:
- The estimated time to receive the email with the corresponding ticket for your reservation.
- It is usually sent approximately 2 to 3 weeks before the trip to Machu Picchu.
- The allowed time frame to cancel the ticket or make the necessary changes.
- All the necessary information regarding your ticket.

Payment Details and Conditions
As an online train reservation service, Rail Machupicchu displays the prices of all offered services. Therefore, customers will have detailed information on the amount to be paid and the service they are acquiring.
Regarding payment methods, payments are processed through conventional digital payment gateways. As a result, international payments are enabled with various banks. All of these are affiliated with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Diners Club.
Payments will be made digitally. Our platforms are secure and have the necessary measures to ensure a successful and completely safe transaction. Also, it is important to consider that sometimes banks may charge international fees or apply different exchange rates, according to their own terms and conditions. These details are independent of the services offered by Rail Machupicchu.
About Train Ticket Sales
Rail Machupicchu recommends that before making the payment, the customer review and verify the travel date. It is important that all information matches the identity documents and passport.
The train ticket will be sent one month or 30 to 45 days before the travel date. In case of any schedule changes or delays, an email will be sent explaining the reason for the delay and other relevant details. Additionally, please note that:
- Train tickets are personal and non-transferable.
- We offer an intermediary service between the Customer and PeruRail, as well as Inca Rail.
- If the customer makes the reservation and payment but does not use the ticket, they will not be entitled to a refund or similar claims.
- Schedule changes or cancellations due to natural causes, protests, and other conditions will be the responsibility of PeruRail and Inca Rail.
- The customer must print the tickets before traveling. The identity document will be necessary to validate the reservation.
Changes and Modifications
- As an intermediary company or agency, changes or modifications will only be accepted through the Rail Machupicchu platform.
- The accepted changes due to errors in data entry or similar include:
- First and last names.
- Travel date.
- Travel schedules.
- Train changes.
- All requested changes must be made in advance and with the corresponding payment.
- For availability changes, requests must be made at least 3 business days before the service date.
- Changes will only be processed upon customer request via our email.
- The change or modification request must include the passport or identity document.
- Changes are subject to a penalty based on the advance notice given.
- If the change request is made 3 to 5 days before the travel date, the penalty is 35%.
- If the change request is made 6 to 10 days before the travel date, the penalty is 30%.
- If the change request is made 11 or more days before the travel date, the penalty is 20%.
About Canceling the Service
- As an intermediary company or agency, cancellations of acquired services will only be accepted through the Rail Machupicchu platform.
- Possible changes will be subject to the availability of other train services or similar options.
- Cancellations and subsequent refunds can only be requested by the customer. Requests must be made via our email.
- Cancellations are the customer’s responsibility and subject to applicable penalties.
- The refund for a cancellation will be processed 48 hours before the scheduled trip. The refund will be made to the same payment method.
- Sometimes, refunds may be delayed due to processing times by the bank or credit card provider.
- Cancellations will not be accepted for services or reservations that have already been modified.
- Last-minute cancellations or those outside the permitted timeframe will not be accepted.
- Cancellations are subject to a penalty of 40% of the purchased service value.
- The minimum period to request a cancellation is 3 business days before the train travel date.
- In case of unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters or social protests preventing travel, cancellations and refunds will be subject to the policies of Inca Rail and PeruRail.
Handling of Information and Confidentiality
As a virtual platform, Rail Machupicchu records data in our systems. While browsing, some data is collected to ensure service functionality. However, all data is stored confidentially.
Additionally, the information provided in the forms to acquire services will be shared with Inca Rail and PeruRail operators. This data will also be securely and appropriately handled.
Liability Disclaimer
As a virtual platform that mediates between customers and train service agencies, we are only responsible for the data recorded in the forms at the time of booking. If the customer provides incorrect or false information in the form, they will bear full responsibility.
Additionally, since Cusco has a complex geography, unexpected events and weather conditions may pose risks to train travel. In cases of natural disasters, adverse weather, political issues such as protests, or blockades affecting train travel, Rail Machupicchu is not responsible for any modifications or changes made by PeruRail and Inca Rail.
Furthermore, during any train journey, Rail Machupicchu is not responsible for the loss, partial or total damage of luggage. The safekeeping of belongings and punctuality in using the service are entirely the customer’s responsibility.
About the Sale of Tours to Machu Picchu
Regarding the tours and travel services we offer to Machu Picchu, including hiking routes such as the 2-day Inca Trail and the 4-day Inca Trail, they are regulated by the Ministry of Culture of Peru. Additionally, changes and modifications will incur penalties.
